Workplace Wellness: Self-Care Strategies for Caring Professionals
2019-01-25 @ 9:30 am – 4:00 pm
Service providers who are stressed or overwhelmed may locate their exhaustion and dysregulation within themselves — “Do I feel this way because of lack of training, lack of skills? Maybe I’m in the wrong line of work!”
This workshop is an opportunity to explore why caring professionals so often experience burnout and are at risk of developing vicarious trauma. Participants will identify self-care methods unique to them and how best to deploy these mechanisms of care as needed. They will explore emerging research and opportunities for growth after traumatic experiences.
This instructor-led workshop includes opportunities for discussion, self-reflection and peer group activities.
This workshop will also be suitable for managers and supervisors who want to better support their staff through training, skill development and supervision support.
