Impact on the Organization – we will focus on processes that are inclusive to build anti-oppressive
practices
Eg: prevention of violence client policy, psychological health and safety policy building using “For
You, By You” principles.
Impact on Individuals – we will focus on how each person can take their own actions
Eg: Employee Resource Groups, the voice of the people being shared, creating safer spaces and
brave space for conversation; intentional movement from performative allyship to meaningful action.
Impact on Community/Systems – we focus on systems change through calls to action in the
pursuit of justice
Eg: equity principles, data equity, historical context of inequities inherent in systems, equity based
action plans (human services and justice related planning).
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will learn to design and implement inclusive organizational processes that foster anti-
oppressive practices, such as creating violence prevention policies and establishing psychological
health and safety protocols based on the “For You, By You” principles. - Participants will explore how to take individual actions that contribute to anti-racist and anti-
oppressive practices, including engaging in Employee Resource Groups, amplifying voices, creating
safer spaces, and moving from performative allyship to meaningful, sustained action. - Participants will understand how to apply principles of equity, historical context, and data equity to
drive systems change, and will be equipped to develop action plans that promote justice and equity
within human services and justice-related sectors.
