In its Knowledge Gap Analysis of Individuals with a Developmental Disability and Interactions with\u00a0the Law, the Inter-ministerial Mental Health & Justice Committee identified a need to build capacity\u00a0and share knowledge within the justice sector about people with developmental disabilities. This\u00a0presentation will provide an overview of an ongoing project aimed at addressing the identified\u00a0knowledge gap including findings from a literature review and analysis of the RAI-MH Database on the\u00a0characteristics for individuals with a developmental disability who have come into contact with the\u00a0justice system and an update on tools and resources under development to assist professionals in the\u00a0justice system in their interactions with people with a developmental disability.<\/p>\n
