Closing the 17-year gap: Key Considerations for Supporting a Resilient Mental Health & Substance Use System in Canada

June 13 @ 12:00 pm 1:00 pm

There is a 17-year gap between what we know works, and when it is actually implemented in the mental health sector. This gap is compounded by factors like knowledge inequity, that has excluded certain voices and forms of expertise in the development and design of mental health and substance use programs. Communities across Canada have long called for a better, more effective youth mental health and substance use system. The first step to fixing the system is through connecting the system, and amplifying the voices and expertise of those that are traditionally left out. A united, pan-Canadian evidence-based approach to addressing systemic inequities needs to be created and shared. But there are still significant gaps in how we define evidence, and how we move it into action.

Join us as we share 5 strategies you can begin implementing as soon as tomorrow to help overcome barriers and obstacles in creating a system that is proactive and equitable
