This workshop is designed to provide participants with a foundational understanding of recovery-oriented practice in community mental health and addiction settings. The assessment process is discussed using a recovery-oriented lens. The practical application of the framework is reinforced through large and small group discussions using various client studies.
Participants will:
Examine recovery-oriented practice application to client assessment.
Understand the important and role of assessment in community mental health and addiction services.
Recognize the importance of client participation in the assessment process.
Differentiate recover/client centered practice principles from medical approach.
