Applying and Qualifying for Ontario Works/Ontario Disability Support Program for Homeless or Precariously Housed Clients

Randy McLin (he/him) is a paralegal/community legal worker with Scarborough Community Legal Services. His area of practice mainly consists of assisting clients who have been denied ODSP due to medical qualifications to appeal their denials. He has over a decade of experience assisting homeless and precariously housed people, having worked in harm reduction street outreach, shelters and community health centres before returning to school to become a paralegal.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn about the qualifications and application process for both Ontario Works and ODSP
- Learn how a client’s housing status may effective their eligibility and programs available to assist homeless clients with applications
- Learn how to advise and assist clients with respect to their rights and responsibilities with Ontario Works and ODSP
