May 14 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
In this training, Dr. Adele Lafrance will share lessons learned as a psychologist and research scientist actively engaged in both fields – psychedelic medicine and conventional psychology/psychotherapy. Supported by anecdotes, video clips and research, concepts such as emotion processing, spirituality, intergenerational trauma, and attachment will be reviewed from a different lens, including practical ways to bridge the work with clients.
Learning objectives:
- Describe the conceptualization of mental health issues informed by lessons learned in the context of psychedelic medicine
- Describe clinical interventions from psychedelic medicine
- Discuss the need to rehabilitate the concept of love in psychotherapy
