Foundations for Providing Affirming Care to 2SLGBTQIA+ Clients

In this foundational webinar, learners will gain a framework for understanding 2SLGBTQIA+ identities and terminologies, the experiences of Queer people, and concrete ways to be allies in their personal and professional lives. This session combines personal stories, powerful statistics, and practical takeaways to leave learners with more confidence in their work supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ people.

By the end of this event, learners will:

• Have a greater understanding of the intersecting identities and lived experiences of Queer people.
• Be able to describe the differences between gender identity, gender expression, sex assigned at birth, and attraction.
• Be able to identify multiple systems of oppression that may be impacting their client(s).
• Understand allyship and ways to be an ally to Queer communities.
• Have increased confidence in their abilities to support and affirm 2SLGBTQIA+ clients in social work settings.
