Strategies for Personal and Collective Care in Challenging Times
February 2 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
This one-hour webinar will acknowledge and take close care and consideration of the many complex and challenging ways that suffering and inequities impacts social workers, personally and professionally. We will explore themes of vicarious trauma, self-care, and trauma-informed practice from a social justice lens. In this session, we will reflect on strategies to sustain ourselves in the work, deepen our understanding of trauma informed practice and will explore meaningful ways to care for ourselves and others. Participants will review tools and how to care for oneself as a helping professional during challenging times. By the end of this webinar, participants will: 1. Unpack and reflect on the impact of the work as a social worker 2. Gain knowledge of how trauma impacts us as social workers and with our clients and communities we serve 3. Find strategies to deepen self-care, collective care, and resilience
